## What Mycelium is

## Founding insight

Every organization that moves people or goods faces the same routing problem. Instead of building vertical-specific software, Mycelium built a universal platform of modular components that any vertical can configure. Within the first months, three independent verticals — schools, retail, and airlines — surfaced the same underlying problem. Organic validation that routing is cross-vertical, not vertical-specific.

Architectural consequence: the optimization engine is separate from the applications built on top. Customers use the full turnkey solution or integrate only specific components via REST API.

### Shufersal (national grocery retail)
In production since 2016. Delivery windows compressed from 5 hours to 2 hours. 230M+ orders to date across every branch since 2016. Multi-class vehicles, per-customer windows, per-branch rule bundles travel with every API request. Largest continuous grocery deployment on the platform.

### Anonymized airline (crew transport)
In production since 2017. ~3,000 crew rides a month, fully automated. 3–4 dispatchers replaced on the rota. 24/7 multi-carrier dispatch with flight-schedule sync and rest-rule enforcement. Hands-off ever since.

### Anonymized online pharmacy (same-day delivery)
Before Mycelium, 1 delivery per courier trip. After Mycelium, up to 5 deliveries per trip via order combining by location and time window. Same-day moved from a paid premium to a free default. The order-combining primitive now lives in the constraint library.
